AFFORDABLE

Did you know that 7 out of 10 students at Piedmont Technical College attend tuition-free? And 90 percent receive some form of financial aid. How is that possible? Not only do we offer the lowest tuition cost of any college in our region, but our intrepid financial aid staff are relentless in their pursuit of every available resource to reduce a student’s cost for attending. They conduct workshops and one-on-one meetings to help students navigate all possibilities. Most benefit from multiple funding sources, putting together a curated aid package that ranges from federal and state funding to loans and scholarships. Plus, new initiatives in our region are allowing more and more students to attend at no cost for tuition and fees.

Reducing Costs

Through a new state scholarship more present and future PTC students potentially can attend college full-time this spring ― tuition-free. The increase affects 48 credentials offered at PTC. This fall semester was the first in which SC WINS scholarships were available, and more than 900 PTC students are among the college’s first class of recipients.

Classes in High School

If you could earn college credit while still in high school—tuition-free—why wouldn’t you? That is exactly what Piedmont Technical College’s Dual Enrollment students were be able to do starting this fall.

Fast, Flexible and Free

Those who may feel under-employed or want to upgrade their professional skills can take two semesters (or less) ― tuition-free ― and earn a certificate that can place them in a good, entry-level job with no waiting.

Promise and Deliver

A new scholarship makes college more affordable for recent Saluda County high school graduates by covering the remaining tuition and fees after state and federal financial aid—effectively making attendance at PTC tuition-free for qualifying students.

Helping Students Achieve More

The Piedmont Technical College Foundation is exceedingly grateful for the contributions received over the years by donors. Every penny donated goes to support the mission and goals of the college. Without that support, fewer students would have the opportunity to reach for and achieve their dreams.

Scholarship Recipients

Each year the college hosts a luncheon to recognize the many students who receive scholarships from the college.

Donors

A host of donors in the region contribute to the college each year to help ensure students have the resources necessary for success.

Making a Difference

As PTC students work to build their future, the college provides the resources necessary to clear a path for their success. But don’t take our word for it, hear how an affordable path to an education can make a difference in our community.
