Transforming Lives Then
2016 marks half a century of service and innovation at Piedmont Technical College. We have spent a large part of the year exploring our history and celebrating past milestones as we looked back at decades of growth and development in Abbeville, Edgefield, Greenwood, Laurens, McCormick, Newberry and Saluda counties.
A lot has happened throughout the history of the college. Join us for a quick tour of the last five decades.
Throughout the year, we have curated a website that allows visitors to further explore the history of the college.
We also looked at the college through the eyes of faculty, graduates and former administrators.
Throughout the year, we have invited members of our community past and present to share their Piedmont Tech experiences.
All of the stories we’ve collected show a clear theme of transformation through education and career success. They show that the college’s beginnings were truly humble and that a strong commitment to the students in our region pushed faculty, staff and administration to continually strengthen and expand college program offerings throughout the decades.
We’ve created a short video highlighting a few of those stories. For more stories, visit our 50years.ptc.edu.
$50 for 50 Years
As part of our anniversary celebration, we wanted to give you an opportunity to impact the lives of current and future students. For this reason, we are launching a campaign to raise $50 from at least 300 individuals or groups by December 15, 2016.
With the money collected, we plan to endow the 50th Anniversary Scholarship which will help provide affordable access to education for Piedmont Tech students for the next 50 years and beyond.
Your donation will open doors for Piedmont Tech students for years to come.
